Everything in this world has its own origin; And all human today have our origin from the garden of Eden. Even so, Eden having its own origin from the world, and the world from God.
A river that forgets it’s own source dries up, similarly, a person that forgets his own origin will be lost forever.
Look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence, ye are digged. Isiah 51:1;
From that verse, we can see clearly that God wants us to remember our source, and never disconnect from it. Today, our home country Eden is no more, but now God has promised to take us to a far more better place where the whole world originated from, which is the kingdom of Heaven, and we are expected to keep our gaze on that home, never disconnecting from it.
Sadly, a lot of people forget that they are pilgrims in this world, and for this reason, they forget that we’re only meant to stay in this wretched place we call earth, for a short while. And the fact that everyone has its own time to report home.
O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end. Deuteronomy 32:29;
If the importance is unclear, and the thoughts of that home where you’re supposed to return to when the world ends, eludes you, then you’re playing a foolish game, where you’ve staked your life as the price.
What you don’t desire, you can’t acquire. You can only return to that home if you’re mindful of it and desire it enough to keep to the path that leads therein, though it is narrow.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. Hebrew 11:15;
If you died in another man’s country and you make heaven, you didn’t perish on a journey. However, if you die in your home country, but didn’t make heaven, then you perished on a journey. What does this mean? The countries on earth are not home to any man, because we’re all strangers on earth, but our true home country is the kingdom of Heaven.
Am Nigerian and I was born there, but I know, that is not my real home country, yes, I was born there, but I know my real home country is the kingdom of Heaven. Am fully aware of this, and I’m always mindful of my real home country, so that I may have the privilege to return therein when I’m called back (I mean when I die or the trumpet sounds).
It’s unfortunate that the devil has attached a lot of importance to the world before some Christians to the extent that all they ever think about is to amass more wealth on earth even at the peril of their own soul.
People lust after the things of the world forgetting it will all perish someday, and that the luxury of this world is nothing to compare to that which we’ll have in our real home country (the kingdom of Heaven).
Your visa to the kingdom of Heaven
In other to go from one country to the other, you’ll be required a visa. Even in your own country, you need some means of identification to prove you’re a true citizen of that country to be able to work freely and do things in that country. The same is with the kingdom of God.
In other to enter into the kingdom of Heaven, you’ll need a spiritual visa.
So, what is the Spiritual visa?
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? (4) He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:3,4;
Now that you know what the visa is, please confirm that you have it in your possession.
Ask yourself this question:
Do I have clean hands in my dealings? Do I have a pure heart devoid of grudges and hate?
Have I not lifted my soul to the vanity of this world? Do I not busy myself chasing after the riches of this world instead of chasing after my home in Heaven?
Do I not swear deceitfully to people?
Only you can answer those questions honestly. If you found that the answer to any of those questions is negative, then you better start working on changing them otherwise you stand the risk of automatic deportation to hell.
The hidden obstacle to entering into the kingdom of Heaven
1. STRIFE: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee (24) Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother and then come and offer thy gift. Mattew 5:23,24;
You can never appear before God if you have any unsettled grievances with anyone. So, if you’re one of the many believers that takes pleasure in keeping malice, please retrace yourself and correct it before God before it’s too late.
Keeping malice with others even as a Christian is, pure hypocrisy.
2. HATRED: This feeling sometime may be hard to notice by others in other persons, because some people just play it perfectly well. They will smile with you to disguise their hatred but in the corner of their hearts is dark hatred. Quit this charade, God is not ignorant. Make perfect your ways before God and love everybody just as you love yourself.
The natural thing to do is to hate those who hate you and only love those who have shown you love. But with God, even this kind of lifestyle is not permitted. Love everyone equally. Love your friends and your enemies the same.
And I say unto you, love your enemies bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you (45) That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven. Mattew 5:44, 45;
Are you blessing those that cursed you? Are you doing good to those that hate you? Are you praying for those that persecute you?
You don’t have any moral justification to hate anyone, either your friends or your enemies.
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer, and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15;
You can see the gravities of the implication of that hatred you are nursing towards your fellow man.
God wants us to love because He’s love, anybody that hates cannot enter into His kingdom.
3. IDOLATRY: This particular sin is one of the many sins that God can’t behold. It is a grave and deadly sin. But, contrary to popular Christian beliefs, idolatry is not only when you worship another god or bow down before some idols, no! Do not live in that ignorance.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity of idolatry. 1 Samuel 15:23;
A stubborn person is an idolater. Especially, those that are stubborn to the extent that they can’t be persuaded to change their false opinions and beliefs. And no idolaters can enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
For this ye know, that no idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Ephesian 5:5;
Please repent of your stubbornness and forgive your brethren so that you do not condemn your soul to the pit of hell.
4. WITCHCRAFT: Witchcraft is not only about performing dark magic acts but anybody that rebel with the word of God has committed the sin of witchcraft. Funny how often people do this.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft… 1 Samuel 15:23;
You don’t have to kill to rise up in life. Don’t rebel with the commandments of God that say: thou shall not murder.
Even when people rebel against you, don’t rebel back. Remember that all things work together for good to them that love God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called to his purpose. Romans 8:28;
Live through each day with thanksgiving. And rebel to rebel against man is to rebel against God’s word which commands: love your neighbor as yourself.
Take heed and try to avoid all of the above-listed obstacles that may hinder you from entering into the kingdom of God. And make sure you have your visa to the kingdom of Heaven ready to go at all times because you’ll never know when you’ll be called back to report your works on earth.
